What began in the dorms at the University of Colorado has steadily grown into a band that is turning heads and gaining fans all across the country by consistently pushing the envelope with their own brand of rock/fusion music. The band, consisting of Phil Johnson (keys, vocals), Max Kabat (guitar, vocals), Adam Mason (bass, vocals), and Alex Johnson (drums, vocals) began playing together at the end of their freshman year, and instantly knew that they wanted to pursue their music. Reuniting sophomore year, they began rehearsing and writing, and the band lined up their first show on the CU-Boulder campus in front of several hundred people.
The guys continued to perform around Boulder, and after Graduation in 2010, the momentum began to grow. The band built a home studio and recorded their debut album Adopt a Highway, which garnered rave reviews from local press. That same year they also playing over 70 shows across Colorado and steadily began building their fan-base.
With school behind them, the band piled into Alex's SUV and hit the road in 2011 with tours throughout the Midwest, while back at home, JE received their first nomination for Best Rock Band in Colorado in the "Jam/Improv" category by Denver's Westword Magazine. As the year progressed, more shows and growing crowds accompanied their expanding catalog of original music which triggered the release of their EP Live at Coyote Circle Studio. The following year saw JE on the road even more, spreading the music out across the Midwest, as well as playing bigger shows at home, which included their first Fox Theatre headline in August of 2012.
Entering 2013, the band has big plans for a new full-length studio album and extensive tours throughout the country, so look out!
